About Our Power

Our Power is an independent publication about energy: how renewable and alternative technologies work, what they cost, and what they mean for Britain. We write for readers who want real numbers rather than slogans: people following energy news, students, and households weighing up solar panels, heat pumps or batteries.

What we cover

  • Technologies. Twelve hubs, from solar and wind to hydrogen, nuclear, storage and the grid and ideas still in the lab. Each starts with a pillar guide and links to everything we have published on the topic.
  • Live data. Our UK grid page shows where Great Britain’s electricity is coming from right now and how much CO₂ it carries, using open data from the National Energy System Operator.
  • News. Projects, policy and investment, with UK stories marked.
  • A glossary of the terms that turn up in energy news and on bills.

Who we are

Our Power is edited by Eugene Serbin. He chooses what we cover, briefs each article and checks every figure against primary sources before publication. How that works in practice is set out in our editorial policy and methodology.

Independence

Our Power is not affiliated with any energy supplier, installer, manufacturer or trade body. We do not publish sponsored or paid-for articles, we do not run advertising, and we do not use affiliate links. No company has a say in what we write about it.
